As the end of August quickly approaches, I find myself missing the sweet but sassy summer vibes of BLACKPINK circa 2017. As If It’s Your Last was undeniably a summer anthem – it’s almost impossible not to throw caution to the wind and just dance when you hear this song!
From the funky beat, to the catchy raps, to the sing-along-worthy chorus – everything about this song was ace. There is no denying that Lisa’s all English rap was one of the song’s highlights (and the iconic Rosé sliding between the other members’ legs move, of course).
To be frank, I miss this cheerful and carefree side of BLACKPINK. Whilst I thought DDU-DU DDU-DU was a masterpiece, I am not huge a fan of the musical direction the group is currently taking. Only time will tell what BLACKPINK have in store for us. But YG Entertainment, if you’re reading this, let our fierce queens show off their playful side too.
